do you ever look around you at the suffering in this world and wonder where is God in all of this or maybe it's your own personal suffering that has you question God's goodness
 if that's the case today's prayer is for you
 welcome back to the prayers of rest podcast I'm your host ashrita choo choo and this season we are resting in the promises of God specifically we are praying through God's promise of victory over suffering from those who love him and belongs to him. As we begin take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving presence around us and within us
 today's passage comes from James 1:12
 blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because having stood the test that person will receive a crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him so let's begin by reciting God's goodness
 oh God you are both compassionate
 and conquering
 you Lord Jesus are the one who let go of the glory of heaven and came to this earth filled with suffering and disease sickness and death and sin and all kinds of evil
 you who knew no sin became sin so that in you we might become the righteousness of God you bore our own selections on yourself you you took the sickness and disease of our own souls and our bodies of all of Humanity on the cross God I praise you that you are close to the Brokenhearted that you know what it's like to be rejected to be alone you know what it's like to stir stand to hunger the stuffer
 you know pain you know harshness you know what it's like to be human so God we praise you that in this time of suffering we are not alone that because of Emmanuel God With Us we have hope
 take a moment now to reflect on this promise that God will give you victory in the end praising him for his goodness for his faithfulness for his power and reflecting on how you've experienced got in your own life in the past
 let's continue Now by expressing our needing us
 battery cling to the truth that if you are for us who can stand against us
 God if we are firmly securely held in your hands who and what can snatch us out of there there's there's nothing
 so God we ask that you would fight for us when we cannot but you would hold us that when we feel like we're failing when we feel like we're falling when we feel like we do not have the strength to carry on God would you through your spirit and power us to stand firm
 Comfort Us by your spirit and power us to not fear what is about to come to not fear the suffering but instead to cling to you and steadfast and immovable Faith how do you say that's the one who perseveres under trial under suffering is blessed because you will give him or her the Crown of Life are going to help us to fix our eyes on what is not seen
 help us to have faith and suffering help us to cling to you in the trial
 how does just seen your Praises even in the fire even in the storm even in the darkest night of the Soul God help us cling to you
 can we feel like we can't hold on help us to rest in the sherance that you are holding on to us
 so bring the for God now the needs that are heaviest on your heart today if there is thin confessed that if there is a weakness ask for his strength and if there's someone else in your life that is suffering today take time now to intercede for them and entrust them and took his Loving Hands
next I invite you to seek God Stillness
 become aware of God's presence with you in the midst of your current trial knowing that he is strengthening you this very moment as you are making time to find a rest for your soul in him be assured that he is giving you strength for today and even hope for tomorrow can you take this time to just rest in the arms of your loving father
 finally let's trust God's faithfulness
 God thank you for
 your work in our hearts even now even these past few minutes if of resting and your promises of standing firm on the guarantee of who you are and what you love to do
 can we come fast. We cannot persevere in our own power is a we trust you to strengthen us we trust you to empower asked indoor to continue
 have you are the one who is faithful Jesus you are the one who was faithful to the point of death even death on a cross
 so God help us to also be faithful to you to be true to your name
 stay steadfast
 given
 if it would cause us to come to the point of Our Own Death God help us stand firm in you knowing that we would awake to see your face
 and all will be worth it in the end he finally see you
 Jesus we trust you and we entrust ourselves to you
 so as you and this time of prayer declare your confidence in God's faithfulness reminding yourself that it is not you who's was going to make it today and it is God who is who he said he is and he will do what he said he will do he will finish the good work that he started in you and he will place the crown of life that the Lord Jesus has promised to those who love him
 who plays that crown on your head
 to trust in his faithfulness today
 now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy to the only God our savior be glory and Majesty power and authority through Jesus Christ Our Lord before all ages now and forevermore amen
