sometimes I read about God's miraculous work in the Bible and I wonder will I ever feel God's power at work in my life and that way I mean you read the book of Acts and it's amazing how God's spirit moved and maybe you're listening to this today and and you're wondering that too like does that even care about the little details about the big struggles in my life or am I in this by myself
 welcome back to the prayers of rest podcast I'm your host ashrita to true and this season we are resting in the promises of God specifically today we're praying through God's promise of spiritual power for those who believe in him so as we begin ticket seat breast and quiet your heart as we become aware of both loving presence around us and within us
 today's reading comes from his Visions chapter 1 verses 18 to 20
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know his incomparably great power for us who believe that power is the same as the mighty strength that he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead
 so let's begin by reciting God's goodness praising him for who he is and for what he has done in our lives
 oh mighty God
 you are the old powerful one
 you are the one who created this world and this universe and set it into motion just words you spoke and it happened
 you are a Creator you are our God
 you are stubborn one the old powerful one
 one word from you Jesus and the storms quieted in the waves ceased their turmoil one word and the dead were raised to life
 for the next few moments
 praise God for the generous gifts that he has bestowed on you that he has generously given you his own spirit that raised Jesus from the dead if you belong to him that Spirit resides in you to take time this morning take time today to thank him for that
 recite his goodness tortilla
 can we move now to express our neediness
 confessing our sins to God receiving his forgiveness and boldly presenting a request before him
 God we confess that more often than not we try to do things that are on strength
 I know it's true in my own life when I consider how many things are on my to do list is overwhelming
 and that's because
 hustle and then try hard in My Own Strength until God thank you for this reminder that you have placed your own Spirit oh powerful one in your children we carry this treasure like in Jars of Clay I mean for anyone on the outside looking in we look no different and yet on the inside you have placed a deposit your own Holy Spirit as a seal and a guarantee of our Union with you for all eternity. Which is to come and yet it's not just a symbolic gesture it is a powerful guarantee of your presents and of your powers are at work in our lives
 so God we pray that you would give us strength when we are very
 but you would increase our power when we are weak your word says that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength and soar like eagles and run and not grow faint
 to take time out to express your meeting ass held on to the ways in which you have tried to be self-sufficient and what you've tried to do things on your own and failed
 and humbly ask
 that he would help you lean into his spirits
 and Avail yourself of his power at work in you
 so we take time now to seek God Stillness
 to become aware of his loving presence and his power
 if love is own Spirit filling you this very moment
 so finally We Trust God's faithfulness
 believing that God is who he said he is and he will do what he promised to do so Lord you are the Eternal Rock of our Salvation you are our refuge and our hiding place that when we run to when life is overwhelming
 because you will never fail
 God you are our creator our sophina the life giver and you have never once failed your promises you have been faithful from the Garden of Eden
 judges creating humans but clothing them in their own Folly and thin and promising a deliver
 you were the god of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and you still are the God of all those who cry out to you and in Jesus you were very presence became flesh and walked Among Us. God himself
 so as we wrap up our time of prayer today
 tell God I trust you and I trust this promise that you have placed your spirit in me and that stays not just going to be an ordinary day. I choose to rest in your power
 I trust you God say that to him today
now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy to the only God our savior be glory and a Majesty power and authority through Jesus Christ Our Lord before all ages now and forevermore amen
