 this study on Joy that we're doing a leading up to the Christmas holiday today we're going to be talking about joy that comes from taking refuge in God and the passage were going to be looking at is Psalm 5:11 so if you have a Bible candy I invite you to take it out and look at this passage with me
 so miss David Wright's but let all who take refuge in you rejoice so it's God he speaking to let all who take refuge in you rejoice let them ever sing for joy and spread your protection over them that those who love your name May exalt in you and David is pointing out that there was a real body to our lives that we often don't see because we're so enamoured and caught up with the things that are going on around us the physical dangers in and pressures and stresses of Life taken crowd out our understanding of this reality what is the reality I'm talking about will that God himself has made himself a refuge you may not have ever thought of it that way but when you placed your faith in Jesus Christ trusting that his death on the cross forgives your sin and makes you a part of God's family in adopted daughter and adopted son
 to the family. You have taken refuge in the Son of God then why do I say you've taken Refuge because before you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ you had an enemy and it was God himself know that may sound kind of strange to you but we're told in the New Testament that Hans wrath his anger is aimed at those who are resisting his gift of Grace given to Jesus Christ because his anger is aimed at all Sinners and every active Sim in the world and throughout the history of the world because he is a righteous God he is opposing the evil that exists in the world
 and through our faith in Jesus Christ we take refuge from the wrath of God we put ourselves in Jesus Christ we are covered by his blood when the father looks on us he sees the righteousness of his son and as we have taken refuge in him David is telling this here we are able to rejoice and he says let them ever sing for joy
 show Friends when you attended church service in you sing those joyful songs that they lead you in a church are you mindful that you're singing truly for Joy because you have a refuge in Jesus Christ you're no longer condemned by the god of the universe you're no longer a target of his rap as you were before you are now protected by that same God as David says he has spread his protection over you and You Now by The Loving his name May exalt in him you may Rejoice that he is your god and that you are his child no friends don't let this reality slip away without acknowledging it without recognizing that day by day you have an opportunity to have your hearts filled with joy because of what God has allowed you to receive through taking refuge in his son
 Jesus is our source of Joy he's the doorway to Joy you might think of it that way and is we take refuge in him we are able to ever sing for joy
 or God thank you so much for sending your son to die on the cross to remove that Crosshair of your aims targeted rap from us so we're free of it we will walk in righteousness because of Jesus real to be accepted by you as a son or a daughter because of Jesus we're able to be free of all the guilt all the sins we committed past present and yes even the future we are free of it because of our place in your son Jesus and now we're teach us how to sing for Joy because of the Refuge that you are
 teaches how to Delight in the protection that you provide for us and that you teach us how to exalt in you insulting his praising teaches how to do that because we love your name more God make us worship for joyful people because of what you've done in Jesus name
