welcome back to the morning mindset my friends I am so glad that you join me I'm glad you're taking the time to set aside every day to get your mind aligned with the truth of God's word Miss short little 6 minutes we are doing our very best to help you get there through examining right now the Book of Proverbs in the wisdom that it contains for us I want to thank a number of people who've come on as partners in the last week or so I want to think Nathan and Boris and Wendy and Tyra and Mara and mentally so I think is the name I'm probably not pronouncing it right but I want to thank you all for coming alongside as those who want to partner with his financially to keep the morning mindset rolling thank you your generosity and your kindness are so appreciated
 today we're looking at Proverbs 28:6 and 11 in Indies versus we're going to see some contrast where Solomon makes a statement such as this person is one way but it's better to be this way those kind of contrasting same as that help us see clearly what he's talking about and today he's talking about how the riches of integrity and understanding are things that we should be pursuing even though in our culture or in our world you may hear a different message let's listen to each one first six says better is a poor man who walks in his Integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways
 and this is a verse that kind of goes against some of the conventional wisdom of our day
 we tend to think becoming rich are becoming wealthy having wealth is the better thing but Solomon the saying others disqualifications here there's there's things you want to be careful about when you sink in that way because if you are a rich person but you are crooked in your ways you're actually worse off than a poor person who has Integrity in their character you see the issue is integrity not well the true wealth is integrity Integrity enabled you to live in such a way that blessing comes to you wear as the Crooked life that's the word that Solomon uses here is one that does not bring blessing it may look like temporarily it does through things like cheating or extortion or things like that but in the end
 when God looks on that life the benefits will not come you can be assured of that numbers 11 says a rich man is wise in his own eyes but a poor man who has understanding will find him out
 show picture this here's a wealthy person who thinks a lot of themselves who thinks they know what they're doing but Solomon hsiang a person who was poor who who does not have that same wealth but has understanding has wisdom
 we'll see right through the facade the Bluster of the man who really doesn't have with some
 in this case Solomon's focusing in again on something of greater value than well and that is the value of wisdom the value of understanding and friends at Believers in Christ we need to understand our mindset is to be different from that is of the world not just for the sake of being different but for the sake of walking according to what is true and what is Right according to what God's word says in here through the writing of Solomon we're told that integrity and understanding are of great value
 let me ask you for what would be different in your life if you were walking in Integrity in the things you did if the quality of your decisions was all governed by the moral compass of God's word
 what would happen if you were making your decisions and living your life according to God's wisdom the wisdom and understanding the only he can give rather than the conventional wisdom or things that our culture sets are wise friends we have great opportunity here to Avail ourselves of God's insight and God's instruction he's the creator of universe he's the creator of mankind he has the wisdom that we need for everyday living I would encourage your friends take her eyes off of wealth and put our eyes on 22 well have integrity and understanding
 dear Lord we ask you to mold and shape our hearts are desires into those that seek integrity and seek understanding
 we want your wisdom to Prevail we want your character to be seen in US Jesus we want to live out lives that in the end we will have no regret because we're standing before King recognizing we allowed him to empower us and to live through us to not only bless our world to bring great glory to himself so bored guide us in that direction because mine's that remember that sort of a life is our goal for the name and sake of Our Savior Jesus we pray amen
